As a new part of our portfolio, we offer our customers a comprehensive range of freeze dryers, highly sophisticated laboratory or production scale instruments, which are used to increase the shelf time of pharma- and biopharma products.


To further expand our presence throughout North America, we are recruiting for a Product Sales Specialist—located in the New York area.


The Product Sales Specialist will be responsible for a variety of sales, and service-related functions including, but not limited to, support our sales team on offerings for new equipment, support operators on handling newly installed equipment, troubleshoot, maintenance, installation, and qualification assistance with special emphases to our freeze-drying product range. Additional responsibilities include the training of customers and Elementar company engineers, continued support of those customers through phone and email. The Product Sales Specialist will report directly to the National Sales Manager.


Duties & Responsibilities
  • Prepare offerings to support sales team on customer inquiries
  • Expand market position by identifying new customers, developing prospects, and penetrating competitive accounts.
  • Forecast trends and potential market opportunities in close contact with the sales management and global marketing team.
  • On-site installation, validation, and maintenance
  • Providing technical training to customers, technical support personnel and service engineers
  • Accurate documentation and reporting of all repairs and product failures and, when applicable, providing design change and improvement recommendations
  • Travel as required to provide service support to customers and other company personnel
  • Ensure timely submission of all necessary reports and other required paperwork
  • Promote sales of Service Contracts and Warranty Extensions
  • Intensive training and certification program require periodic travel to the manufacturing facility in Osterode, Germany.


Experience, Essential Skills and Person
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics-, Mechanical-, Electrical- or HVAC/R Engineering is required, graduate degrees preferred
  • Experience in pneumatics, automation, IT networks, hydraulics, electrical and computer systems.
  • Experience with analytical instrumentation and deep-freezing HVAC/R cooling systems 
  • Understanding the basic calibration procedures for temperature and vacuum sensors and for pressure measuring instruments in an GMP environment
  • Good at troubleshooting of advanced systems, meticulous, detail-oriented and very analytical
  • Mechanically minded and good working with hands
  • Team spirit but also an independent way of working
  • Ability to work cost efficient and sales oriented  
  • Effectively communicate with customers and support staff in person, via phone or email
  • Ability to produce clear and concise maintenance documentation
  • Travel approximately 40% with valid driver’s license and passport
  • Experienced working with a CRM system and the MS Office Applications
  • Ability to work from home office to provide remote technical support
  • Ability to life up to 20 lbs.
